Red Fox

Local Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes) hunting for cherries.
After a rain, the wild cherry tree drops a lot of cherries, and these omnivore critters come to munch out.

I spent about 20 minutes observing these foxes and trying to get close enough to snap some pictures. At one point they both ran away, but came back a few minutes later. I started softly singing the old bluegrass song "Fox On The Run". I'm not sure if this calmed them, or perhaps they just got used to me, but I was able to approach to about 25 feet and get the pictures.
